Commitment to achieving Net Zero

Judopay achieved Net Zero emissions in 2023..

Since 2023 Judopay has been calculating its carbon emissions and looking at ways to reduce this output. As a result, we have also been working with Earthly investing in their projects to offset our emissions and help us achieve our sustainability goals.

Baseline Year: 2023

Additional details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations. 

Emission calculations for 2022 v 2023 were done using a different supplier. As a result, this year we were not able to calculate for the subsequent time period (Sep 2023 - 2024) and instead have only been able to calculate for an entire calendar year - 2023. 

For this reason, we cannot compare the previous emission results with our new output as there is an overlap. Going forward we will therefore be using our recent calculations from 2023 as our baseline year.

For our 2023 calculations, we used Climate Essentials. 

Please note, our Scope 2 is 0 as our serviced offices now use renewable energy. This is managed by the office group, not Judopay.

Emissions reduction targets  

In order to continue our progress in reducing our carbon emissions, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.

We are continuing with our target to reduce our carbon emissions to 75 tCO₂e by 2029.

Carbon Reduction Projects

The following environmental management measures and projects have been completed or implemented since we started calculating our carbon emissions in 2022 including our 2023 baseline.

Judopay has implemented the following:

1. Migration to the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
2. Became a Net Zero Business.
3. Office relocation.
4. Reduction of Judopay's website carbon emissions.
5. Launch of Cycle to Work Scheme.

We also look to implement the following:

1. Creation of and implementation of Judopay’s Green Procurement Policy. 
2. CO2e reduction with the replacement of new hardware e.g. laptops.  
3. Engagement strategy to educate employees. 
4. Creation and implementation of Judopay’s Travel Policy.
5. Judopay to investigate, with a view to becoming, ISO 14001 certified.
